October Events

Dhevatara has tried to minimize our impact on the local population and environment, by including and consulting with them at all stages. It is also our policy to always give back to the communities we work and live in. So far in Koh Samui, we have built a library at the local Temple for the community in Lipa Noi and a sports hall / auditorium that can utilised by all the community in Bophut at the local school. November Events

Loy Krathong is celebrated on the full moon night of the twelfth lunar month of the Thai calendar every year. This year it falls on November 5 th.

The festival is held to give thanks to the Goddess of River and to ask for amnesty in polluting the waterways. The word "Loy" means to float and "Krathong" means a banana-leaf cup.

A beautiful "Krathong" decorated with colorful flowers is made as an offering to the Goddess. All rivers and waterways will be full of floating Krathong with glittering candle lit. Loy Krathong is one of the most picturesque and recognized festivals in Thailand. Read the full story.
